Compassionate and Professional Online Therapy

About Me

I’m Michelle, a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP) and an EMDR practitioner, with over a decade of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges.

My journey as a therapist began in 2012 when I trained to become a humanistic integrative counsellor. I then went on to train in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and EMDR therapy. I worked extensively with people experiencing a range of mental health difficulties and within a therapy service specialising in psychological trauma. Over the years, I have developed a deep understanding of how therapy can create lasting, positive change.

I believe that everyone deserves to be heard, supported and empowered. Seeking therapy can feel overwhelming but my goal is to make the process as comfortable and effective as possible. By using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), I tailor my sessions to meet your individual needs, whether you’re struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma or self-esteem challenges.

Why I Do What I Do

I became a therapist because I believe in the power of connection, understanding and change. Life can be difficult and we all experience moments of struggle. But you don’t have to go through it alone. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, gain clarity and develop the tools to move forward with confidence.

How I Work

I take a collaborative and flexible approach to therapy, adapting techniques to suit your needs. Sessions are conducted online, offering you the convenience and flexibility to access therapy from the comfort of your own space. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person sessions, allowing you to receive high-quality support wherever you are.

What clients say

“Working with Michelle at Wyke Therapy has been a truly transformative experience. After being referred for CBT, which wasn’t the right fit for me, Michelle immediately recognised what I needed and guided me toward EMDR. Her ability to understand my fears, my pain, and how my trauma shows up is unlike anything I’ve experienced elsewhere.

I’ve had support from multiple places in the past, but Michelle stands out. She adapts her approach with such care and intuition, creating a space where I feel genuinely heard, supported, and never judged. Her combination of expertise, compassion, and flexibility has made a remarkable difference in my progress.

The work we’ve done together has helped me rebuild confidence and move forward in ways I didn’t think were possible. Wyke Therapy is a reflection of Michelle’s dedication and heart, and I couldn’t recommend her more highly.”
